The Rocks Dugout is a great resource to learn about our players and to track the team's progress. Check back often to see how the Rocks are doing as they battle the competition in the Park National Division. The Park National League is sponsored by the Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Association.
3/2: Are the Angels the team to beat?
Since announcing that the Rocks have ended operations after 15 years, I've received several requests from local teams inquiring about our players. That, to me, is a compliment to the talent that we had on the Rocks. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a few other players to replace those that had decided to leave so we could've continued on in 2012.
The Minneapolis Angels have just become the honorary brother of the Rocks after agreeing in principal to at least four Rocks players. The Rocks have always had the utmost respect for the orange and black. The rivalry is deep rooted into the tradition and they always have embodied the spirit that the Rocks had on the field. Above that, they are all generally great guys.
With the pick-ups of Kirby Morshing (P), Spencer Ingaldson (C), Andy Podmolik (OF) and Aaron Larson (P/OF), the Angels may be the pre-season favorite in the Park National league. Remember, the Angels are a team that finished 4th in the conference last season and beat out the Patriots to advance to the state tournament.
A pitching rotation that now has Ginther, Morshing, Naegli and Larson is a formidible combination.
Good luck to all and Jay, when you see me at a game this summer I want an Angels cap.

2/21: That's all folks
It is with a heavy heart that I announce that there will no longer be a Minneapolis Rocks baseball team.
While last week brought hope and promise, this week brings tragedy to an organization that was a pillar in the Park National league. We exhausted every scenario to find a way to make it work this year. Unfortunately, there wasn't a viable option as it became apparent that there would not be enough guys to fill-out the roster.
Personally for me, this is a sad day. I've been a part of this team or 15 years. Over that time, I've made many friendships that I hope will last for my lifetime. I owe a lot to you guys for making these past few years such an enjoyable time for me. While I know that I will see most of you around, I will miss the camaraderie we've shared in the dugout, on the field, and in the parking lot.
Lastly, I'd like to thank Colin Sehnert for his years of service and his help in managing the operations of the team. A special thank you is also needed for Tim Sehnert who founded the team and helped shape our organization to what it became.
